UnScene Los Angeles @ Elevate Lounge

Quick thanks to 944/UnScene for the night, and thanks to everyone who came out ! Good times were had by all :)

After the Elevate Lounge, we headed to Hollywood to Cinespace for a private b-day party.

After hitting Cinespace, we all retreated to the taco trucks that inhabit the city after dark. This one over on Western is good.

Ah....good times were had by all :)
“Hi everyone. I just want to thank you so much. This is such a big deal, not only for us, but for all other independent musicians and artists that spend most of their time struggling, and this, the fact that we’re standing here tonight, the fact that we’re able to hold this, it’s just the proof that no matter how far out your dreams are, it’s possible. And, you know, fair play to those who dare to dream and don’t give up. And this song was written from a perspective of hope, and hope at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are. And so thank you so much, who helped us along way. Thank you.”

Hey, well always nice to be wanted ! At first I thought they were going to do an online voting system but can't find hide nor hair of it on their sites so (shrugged) guess I'll let the folks out there to know to reserve next Wednesday night and come down to the party at Elevate Lounge !

If you haven't been there before, get ready for a treat - it's a lounge located on the 21st floor of a business building in downtown LA ! I've been here before when it first opened. I like the view but didn't really like the music - but then again, they were pretty new back then. This spot reminds me of Tokyo in a way - many of the bars and lounges there are located in high-rises. There's also a sushi restaurant right next door.

For years I've been working on a personal series I like to call "Life Below the Line" about the folks who work in the film industry. Working on features and music videos for the past 2 years, I've seen the army of crew that work on productions from the DP,AC,AD,MUA,PA , crafty, scripty, and all the rest help create what folks see.

In any case, there's a national photo competition called UnScene Photography Tour. Competitions are held in different cities such as Miami, Dallas, San Francisco, etc and the theme is pretty much to capture what you consider the "unscene" of the city. Obviously this was a perfect match to me. What can be more unseen then the folks behind the scenes ?

Their last stop of the tour is Los Angeles and last week I found out I am a finalist ! (You like me, you really like me !) In a week and a half there'll be a party at a downtown location with the finalist and they requested eight 16x20 images to be printed and prep for display so now I'm in "busy" mode to get these done.

More to come....
