+ MetroCon 2010 !
Back from Florida ! Okay, here’s the negative thing to me running around the country to Artist Alley. I’m in Artist Alley ! Granted, I’m here to sell a book that I slave over a year on but I can’t help left out when there’s panels and events going on that I can’t attend. With MetroCon, there’ll well known for their anime chess match which unfortunately I did not get to see
Also this is the 2nd year Parle Productions (for the famed Demyx Time & Sora Show) made an appearance at the con. I swear to you, it is the most packed panel I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t get in so I was at the side door on my tippy toes trying to get a peek (there’s some footage in the video above). With so many people crowded in that room, you can definitely feel the difference in temperature between inside the room and outside ! I could hardly hear what they were saying so I only stuck around for like 5 minutes…plus I have a table to man !
As with all the cons I’ve been to, I kept my Facebook and Twitter followers updated with hourly photos of cosplayers. All the images are collected into my Flickr set here. One thing I did learn is to be prepared to be humidified ! I’ve forgotten about humidity since I left Houston but coming to Tampa bought back memories….memories like glasses fogging up when walking from inside (where there is AC) to outside….oh, plus I think my contacts aren’t used to it either….yes, I wear glasses and contacts – I am really really really blind as a bat. So if you are coming to cosplay here in Florida – don’t forget the heat if you’re gonna go do photo shoots outside. I also learn how to do the 3-0-5 hand sign so I can rep Miami ^^
I’m totally grateful for those who came by bought the book and talked to me and who believe in my book project that I’ve been working on for the past year (2 years if you count Anime Expo 2008 where I set-up my “office” as a test-run). I’ve met so many wonderful people and talked to numerous cosplayers about their outfit, their experiences and the one big question that bugs me as to why there’s so many cons in Florida ! One gal’s answer was simply “Because I live here and I want to go to them !”.
Oh, on the last day, I found a Dunkin’ Donuts ! Yes, Dunkin’ Donuts means a lot to me because when I was a kid, it was a treat for Sunday morning for the family to get them donuts
Since I’ve moved to California, there aren’t any and whenever I’m somewhere else, I just have to get them. I also found a Sonic and Limeades !!! Yay !
I’m back in LA for 2 days and I’m flying out Thursday morning for Otakon so I’ll see y’all out at the cons !!!
