Tell me about the outfit you are wearing – who are you cosplaying and how did you decide to pick this particular character ?
Ky Kiske, my girlfriend and I are both Guilty Gear fans, and since she decided to do Bridget, I thought I might as well do my home boy Ky Kiske.
Tell me about the process of making your outfit – was it easier or tougher than you imagine it to be ?
It was a lot more involved then I thought. My girlfriend is a seamstress, so while she was sewing and actually crafting it, I was cutting patterns and ironing. Overall it was pretty intense for a novice like myself. The hardest part was finding all the materials, or maybe just paying for them haha.
Any interesting stories from people’s reaction to your outfit at the con ? ^^
Ha, well I did get a lot of great reactions. The best had to be when a guy cosplaying SSJ Goku wanted a picture with me while he was blocking my sword with one finger aka Trunks. Being a huge DBZ fan myself, I couldn’t refuse.
How did you get started cosplaying and what got you interested ?
I’ve always loved dressing up since I was a kid, and always wanted to cosplay. Sadly, I never knew how to craft myself and buying costumes online for the most part was a no-no. It wasn’t until i met my girlfriend and she introduced me to it all. My first outfit was Tobi from Naruto (weak i know haha)
What are the con did you first attended and what’s your favorite con that you’ve attended so far and why ?
My first con i attended was MTAC (Middle Tennessee Anime Convention). I didnt know what to expect, but was really excited once I saw all the cosplayers walking around. AWA though has to be my favorite. The dealer room is freakin huge, and there is a lot more space and people. Although the gaming room was rather weak.
What does cosplay mean to you ?
Having a good time, dressing up and just being able to goof off with fellow nerds.
If you had unlimited funds/technology/time, what is your dream cosplay ?
A 1:1 scale deathscythe hell custom Gundam. Seriously…
